Dear users of the whitson+ external API,

We will make several updates to the External API endpoints which we will roll out by 22nd of October 2025. Most of the changes are backward compatible with the current version, but some endpoints have breaking changes. Action may be required depending on your existing integration.

Below is the summary of the breaking changes. For the complete list of changes, please refer to this document: External API Change Log (PDF)

  1. PUT /multi_well_gas_lift_opt/{multi_well_gas_lift_id}/change_injection_rate
    • Added enum to several response properties.
  2. GET /multi_well_gas_lift_opt/{multi_well_gas_lift_id}/settings
    • Added enum to several response properties.
  3. PUT /multi_well_gas_lift_opt/{multi_well_gas_lift_id}/settings
    • Added enum to several response properties.
  4. PATCH /type_wells/saved_cases
    • Normalization attribute is now nullable
    • Added enum to several response properties.
  5. PATCH /wells/dca
    • Added enum to several response properties.
  6. POST /wells/dca_saved_case
    • /items/type is no longer nullable and restricted to a list of enum values.
  7. PATCH /wells/dca_saved_cases
    • Added enum to some response properties.
  8. GET /api-external/v1/wells/{well_id}/well_dca/saved_cases
    • Added enum to some response properties.

Note: Most of the enums added were already part of the accepted payload.

We also added new endpoints for the multi-well gas-lift optimizer. Stay tuned!
